KYCA KNOWS ITS FIRST AWARDEES
We proudly announce that Kodak Young Cinematographer Award has its first
awardees! On 13th April 2011, the audience at BIO OKO experienced the first ever
award ceremony co-organized by iShorts and Kodak. The jury of acclaimed Czech
cinematographers (Marek Jícha, F.A. Brabec, Antonio Riestra and Daniel
Večeřa) chose two winners: Antoan Pepelanov for cinematohgraphy on
„Neříkej hop.“ and Gašper Šnuderl for „Charmers“. To see our work

Mamas & Papas awarded in Hamptons
Alice Nellis’s Mamas & Papas was awarded the main prize – the Golden
Starfish Narrative Feature Award at the International Film Festival in Hamptons.
The jury also awarded Alice’s script with the Zichermann Screenplay Award.
The movie was also selected for festivals in Vancouver and Chicago. In the Czech
theaters, Mamas & Papas topped sixty thousand moviegoers.
Normal Awarded in Shangai
The jury of the Shanghai International Film Festival 2009, headed by Danny
Boyle, awarded Julius Sevcik for the best directing of Normal: The Düsseldorf
Ripper. Congratulations, Julius! We are proud to have you as a part of the
CLOSER team.
